How To Start Conversation With A Girl:Top Good Conversation Starters Tips (What You Need To Know)

Top Good Conversation Starters Tips (What You Need To Know)

Why choosing a great conversation starter is important!
What should I say?
When choosing good conversation starters for a date or even when you are going out just to pick up girls or meet guys, there are a few crucial points to keep in mind.

Good conversation starters always involve topics that are engaging, topics that both men and women want to give their opinion on.
Great conversation starters are always open ended. To be specific, they do not get one word answers from people. An example of a closed ended conversation starter is, “What’s the time?” An example of an open ended conversation starter is, “What’s worse? Spilling your drink on yourself or spilling your drink on your date?”
You may have heard that first impressions matter most. This is completely true. That’s why preparing a good opening line ahead of time is important. It helps to take some of the pressure off you when meeting new people (as you’re not thinking, “What should I say?”).
While it is important to have a great conversation starter to guarantee that your interactions go well, it is a bad idea to rely on it as your only way to talk to people. Having other various topics to talk about is just as important.
Using the same conversation starter for every interaction is okay but it can get boring and make you a one trick pony.
Conversation Starters to Avoid
The ia a simple rule to remember (especially when it comes to dating):

Be interesting and avoid boring or contentious (religion, politics, etc.) topics

So this means you need to avoid boring topics, which are basically anything that is overly logical as well as any topics that often bring out a negative reaction in people.

Specific topics to avoid when choosing a good conversation starter are:

Religion
Politics
The weather
Current economic climate
Foreign Policy
TOPICS THAT OTHERS KNOW LITTLE ABOUT
Obviously there are exceptions, but more often than not, these topics lead to boring, dull conversations that don’t allow people to see how interesting you really are.

Good Conversation Starters to use right now!
This first one is obvious (and has many simple variations), but most people are polite and want to meet others.

On top of this most people are far more worried about what you think of them than what they think of you.

Hey guys, I’m [insert your name].
Hey guys, did you see who won [insert latest local sporting event]?
Hey guys, I have to ask you something, what is up with [insert celebrity such as Jennifer Aniston]. How many people has he/she been dating in the last year?
Hey guys, this party/event is great, how do all know each other?
Hey guys, i have to get your opinion on something [Then ask a qustion about something relevent to the person/group, so if they are younger it can be something about a celebrity and if they are a little older then it can be about something such as a local scandal].
Just remember that having a great conversation starter is only one piece of the puzzle.

It’s important to move away from it if you can see that it’s boring people.

See Obvious Signs To Tell if a Girl Likes You For Real

How to Know if a Girl Likes You

Wondering how to tell if a girl likes you? Once you know and can read the signs that a girl is attracted, you can make your move and tell her how you feel.
Use these indicators to know when she wants you.

Her eyes have the answers
If a girl likes you then you will find that she will look at you a lot.

If you are in the same room and she looks once or twice don’t get too excited, this doesn’t mean much.

But if she is constantly looking at you or in your direction, then you can be confident that she is attracted to you.

It’s not just her looking at you that you should watch out for.

Girls who like you will also be afraid of you “catching them” looking.

So if you turn and see a girl quickly breaking eye contact (this needs to happen more than two or three times), then you can be pretty sure she was staring at you and likes you.

Girls obviously make eye contact with you during conversation so please don’t take this as a sign that they like you.

Touches her Hair/Scalp
If a girl starts adjusting her hair more than is normal, this is one way how to tell if a girl likes you.

She will run her hand through it and put loose strands behind her ear.

She may also lightly scratch just behind her ear.

Remember that she has to do this more than once or twice for you to be sure that she likes you.

She laughs at your jokes even when they aren’t funny
Girls who are attracted to you will laugh at your jokes far more often than girls who are not.

This is a sure sign that she is attracted to you.

She touches you a lot
When this girl is around you, does she touch you a lot.

More than she would touch other people? If so then you can take it as a sign she likes you.

Does she always want to hang out?
If this girl is always asking you to hang out (alone with her) a lot, then you can be pretty sure that she likes you.

Look out for the other signs when you are hanging out together.

She is shy around you
While some girls are more flirty and extroverted around guys they like, some girls are the opposite.

They become shy and quiet when they are in the presence of someone they like.

If the girl is normally loud and boisterous around her friends but she becomes quite shy around you, then you can be positive that she.

All You Need In Building A Successful Business - Step Guide On Business Startup

On Startups: All You Need In Building A Successful Business

I could list a billion things like investing in yourself, getting a mentor, read books about businesses and startups, the list could be endless but here are some vital things you need in building a successful business.
There is no limit to who can become a great entrepreneur. You do not need a college diploma, a huge amount of money, group at the bank or even a business experience that may be the next big hit.

However, what you need is a solid plan and a willingness to see it.

I feel without them you really can’t get your business there.

You need to Ask yourself these following questions everyday...

Why do I want to go into this?

What problem am I solving?

What are my goals?

What will I achieve?

Am I doing it for the paycheck?

Am I doing it because I love it?

What is my reason?

I like to be involved in things that change the world. — Elon Musk
Why am I doing this?

Your answer to that question will determine how successful you might turn out.

The stronger the answer or the more answers you get the more drive you will push towards being successful.

Simon Sinek explains this concept properly in his book – Start with why.

His idea was that customers would love and believe in your product if you give them a strong reason to.

You should really be clear on why you want to start up, this would help you in the long run.

Passion

Am I passionate about this business?

How do I feel when I think about it?

What gets you fired up?

What are you passionate about?

I have a friend that loves clubbing; he never misses his Friday and Sunday night for any reason.

You would always find him at the club these two days of the week, I can’t keep count of the number of times I had advised him to stop or cut the rate at which he clubs.

It all fell on deaf ears! Fast forward six months later, he is now a club promoter and he is making cool cash every Friday and Sunday of the week.

The more you love what you do, the more you will be actively engaged in it which will lead to success.

This should also relate to your staff, members and co-founders.

It’s very essential that people working with you have passion for the business.

I would make sure to hire people who love what they do, heck they should have the same goal as you!

Unique

What is your unique selling point?

What will you do different from your competitors?

Have you identified who your customers are?

You should analyze your competition to see what they don’t have, learn their business, you might see what they aren’t doing well or probably see what they are doing well and you can twist it adding your experience and ideas making it your own to become more successful.

Take Airbnb for example, it’s practically a hotel at home.

They connect travelers and people around the world that have living spaces to rent, by doing this, they changed the way the traditional hotel works.

I don’t plan on booking hotels anymore, I will always using Airbnb’s service.

It’s cheaper than a hotel and the advantages of meeting and talking with the host is incomparable especially if you are a tourist.

Plan

Plan. Plan. Plan. Fail.

Make mistakes, get back up quickly and get on the run again.

You should have set goals, get a business plan; not a big 150 page business plan, get something small – 20 pages at-most.

With time as the business grows, you can scale up the plan accordingly.

Money

This has been disputed many times that you need money, enough  money to start a business, I do not agree with that.

The question is how much is enough money? Money is never enough no matter how much.

The secret is to start with what you have, then bootstrap!

Bootstrap till you gain traction, that’s when the VC’s will come, that’s when the angel Investors will come knocking.

They would never if they don’t see traction.

We have seen that with companies like Flipkart – They recently raised a billion dollar in funding: they started with selling books online and I have been their customer since early 2010.

I have bought many books from them, till now I have not even finished reading half of the books!

Balls

This should set you on the right course and push you to cut off all red tapes.

Tesla Motors is doing just that.

There are laws in the United States preventing cars sold directly to the consumers, cars are normally being sold through auto dealers and Elon Musk doesn’t really care about that.

You can buy a Tesla online and it’s an electric car – what the world thought it will never be possible.

You need to be ready to take risks. Break the rules.

You need those brass balls! I have never heard of any entrepreneur that hasn’t taken as much risk as possible.

Be ready to fail, accept it, get up and move fast.

With that being said, it’s important to cut as much risk as possible.

And In Conclusion
Building a successful business can be rewarding, challenging and also a frightening experience.

It won’t happen overnight without work and no amount of luck will make it happen either.

So keep working, keep your head up and don’t stop until you hit that set goal.

Have more points to give? Let me know in the comment section.

How To Lower Blood Pressure (Natural Home Remedy for High Blood Pressure

Natural Home Remedy for Lowering High Blood Pressure

Many adults around the world deal with hypertension, also called high blood pressure. Due to the recent changes in guidelines, nearly half of American adults will now be characterized as having high blood pressure. Experts recommend treating the condition with lifestyle changes and medications.

What is Blood Pressure?
Blood pressure is the force of your blood pushing against the walls of your arteries. Each time your heart beats, it pumps blood into the arteries. Your blood pressure is highest when your heart beats, pumping the blood. This is called systolic pressure. When your heart is at rest, between beats, your blood pressure falls. This is called diastolic pressure.

Blood pressure readings have two numbers, for example 140/90mmHg. The top number is your systolic blood pressure. (The highest pressure when your heart beats and pushes the blood round your body.) The bottom one is your diastolic blood pressure.

Blood pressure ranges include:
Normal: Less than 120/80 mm Hg
Prehypertension: Systolic between 120–129 and diastolic less than 80
Stage 1 high blood pressure: Systolic between 130–139 or diastolic between 80–89
Stage 2 high blood pressure: Systolic at least 140 or diastolic at least 90 mm Hg

What causes Blood Pressure?

The exact causes of high blood pressure are not known, but several things may play a role, including:
-Smoking
-Being overweight or obese
-Lack of physical activity
-Too much salt in the diet
-Too much alcohol consumption (more than 1 to 2 drinks per day)
-Stress
-Older age
-Genetics
-Family history of high blood pressure
-Chronic kidney disease
-Adrenal and thyroid disorders
-Sleep apnea

Symptoms and Signal of High Blood Pressure

High blood pressure is a dangerous condition that can damage your heart.
6 Most common high blood pressure symptoms are:
Most commonly high blood pressure causes no symptoms at all. This means that people with high blood pressure can be having damage occur to their heart, kidneys, eyes, and circulation without feeling badly! It is very important, therefore, to have blood pressure testing as part of the routine physical examination. However, in people with uncomplicated high blood pressure, they may experience the following...

i. headache
ii. blurred vision
iii. dizziness
iv. shortness of breath.
The consequences of high blood pressure depend on the severity and the duration of the pressure, as well as the underlying medical condition of the individual affected. High blood pressure can affect the heart to cause:
v. shortness of breath
vi. chest pain, and Heart Attack
High blood pressure can impair the function of the kidneys, leading to fluid retention and swelling of the legs, and even kidney failure. High blood pressure can affect the eyes, causing vision loss. High blood pressure can seriously affect the circulation causing pain in the legs with walking, cold feet, and stroke.

Fortunately, when high blood pressure is detected early, treated, and monitored, the consequences of high blood pressure can be avoided.

Ways To Lower Blood Pressure Naturally

While medication can lower blood pressure, it may cause side effects such as leg cramps, dizziness, and insomnia. Fortunately, most people can bring down their blood pressure naturally without medication with home remedies for low blood pressure (called hypotension).

(1) Take up tea

Lowering high blood pressure is as easy as one, two, tea: Study participants who sipped three cups of a hibiscus tea daily lowered systolic blood pressure by 7 points in 6 weeks on average, say researchers from Tufts University—results on par with many prescription medications. Those who received a placebo drink improved their reading by only 1 point.
The phytochemicals in hibiscus are probably responsible for the large reduction in high blood pressure, say the study authors. Many herbal teas contain hibiscus; look for blends that list it near the top of the chart of ingredients for low blood pressure—this often indicates a higher concentration per serving.

Hibiscus flower
Hibiscus is a genus of flowering plants in the mallow family, Malvaceae. The genus is quite large, comprising several hundred species that are native to warm temperate, subtropical and tropical regions throughout the world. Member species are renowned for their large, showy flowers and those species are commonly known simply as "hibiscus", or less widely known as rose mallow.

The flowers are large, conspicuous, trumpet-shaped, with five or more petals, color from white to pink, red, orange, peach,[7] yellow or purple,[8] and from 4–18 cm broad.

(2) Reduce your sodium intake

Salt intake is high around the world. In large part, this is due to processed and prepared foods.

For this reason, many public health efforts are aimed at lowering salt in the food industry.

In many studies, salt has been linked to high blood pressure and heart events, like stroke

However, more recent research indicates that the relationship between sodium and high blood pressure is less clear.

One reason for this may be genetic differences in how people process sodium. About half of people with high blood pressure and a quarter of people with normal levels seem to have a sensitivity to salt.
If you already have high blood pressure, it's worth cutting back your sodium intake to see if it makes a difference. Swap out processed foods with fresh ones and try seasoning with herbs and spices, rather than salt.

(3) Drink less alcohol

Drinking alcohol can raise blood pressure. In fact, alcohol is linked to 16% of high blood pressure cases around the world.

While some research has suggested that low-to-moderate amounts of alcohol may protect the heart, those benefits may be offset by negative effects.

In the US, moderate alcohol consumption is defined as no more than one drink a day for women and two for men. If you drink more than that, cut back.

(4) Relax with music

Need to bring down your blood pressure a bit more than medication or lifestyle changes can do alone? The right tunes can help you get low blood pressure, according to researchers at the University of Florence in Italy. They asked 28 adults who were already taking hypertension medication to listen to soothing classical, Celtic, or Indian music for 30 minutes daily while breathing slowly.
After a week, the listeners had lowered their average systolic reading by 3.2 points; a month later, readings were down 4.4 points.

(5) Eat more potassium-rich foods

Example: Bananas
Potassium is an important mineral.

It helps your body get rid of sodium and ease pressure on your blood vessels.

Modern diets have increased most people's sodium intake while decreasing potassium intake.

To get a better balance of potassium to sodium in your diet, focus on eating fewer processed foods and more fresh, whole foods.

Foods that are particularly high in potassium include:
Vegetables, especially leafy greens, tomatoes, potatoes and sweet potatoes
Fruit, including melons, bananas, avocados, oranges and apricots
Dairy, such as milk and yogurt
Tuna and salmon
Nuts and seeds
Beans

(6) Reduce your stress

Chronic stress may contribute to high blood pressure. More research is needed to determine the effects of chronic stress on blood pressure. Occasional stress also can contribute to high blood pressure if you react to stress by eating unhealthy food, drinking alcohol or smoking.

Take some time to think about what causes you to feel stressed, such as work, family, finances or illness. Once you know what's causing your stress, consider how you can eliminate or reduce stress.

If you can't eliminate all of your stressors, you can at least cope with them in a healthier way. Try to:

Change your expectations. For example, plan your day and focus on your priorities. Avoid trying to do too much and learn to say no. Understand there are some things you can't change or control, but you can focus on how you react to them.
Focus on issues you can control and make plans to solve them. If you are having an issue at work, try talking to your manager. If you are having a conflict with your kids or spouse, take steps to resolve it.
Avoid stress triggers. Try to avoid triggers when you can. For example, if rush-hour traffic on the way to work causes stress, try leaving earlier in the morning, or take public transportation. Avoid people who cause you stress if possible.
Make time to relax and to do activities you enjoy. Take time each day to sit quietly and breathe deeply. Make time for enjoyable activities or hobbies in your schedule, such as taking a walk, cooking or volunteering.
Practice gratitude. Expressing gratitude to others can help reduce your stress.

7) Cut back on caffeine

If you've ever downed a cup of coffee before you've had your blood pressure taken, you'll know that caffeine causes an instant boost.

However, there's not a lot of evidence to suggest that drinking caffeine regularly can cause a lasting increas.

In fact, people who drink caffeinated coffee and tea tend to have a lower risk of heart disease, including high blood pressure, than those who don't (15, 16, 17, 18).

Caffeine may have a stronger effect on people who don't consume it regularly.

If you suspect you're caffeine-sensitive, cut back to see if it lowers your blood pressure.

(8)Learn to manage stress

Stress is a key driver of high blood pressure.

When you're chronically stressed, your body is in a constant fight-or-flight mode. On a physical level, that means a faster heart rate and constricted blood vessels.

When you experience stress, you might also be more likely to engage in other behaviors, such as drinking alcohol or eating unhealthy food, that can negatively affect blood pressure.

Several studies have explored how reducing stress can help lower blood pressure. Here are two evidence-based tips to try:

Listen to soothing music: Calming music can help relax your nervous system. Research has shown it's an effective complement to other blood pressure therapies.
Work less: Working a lot, and stressful work situations in general, are linked to high blood pressure.

(9) Eat dark chocolate or cocoa

Here's a piece of advice you can really get behind.

While eating massive amounts of chocolate probably won't help your heart, small amounts may.

That's because dark chocolate and cocoa powder are rich in flavonoids, plant compounds that cause blood vessels to dilate.

A review of studies found that flavonoid-rich cocoa improved several markers of heart health over the short term, including lowering blood pressure.

For the strongest effects, use non-alkalized cocoa powder, which is especially high in flavonoids and has no added sugars.

(10) Lose weight

If you're overweight, losing weight can make a big difference for your heart health.

According to a 2016 study, losing 5% of your body mass could significantly lower high blood pressure.

In previous studies, losing 17 pounds (7.7 kg) was linked to lowering systolic blood pressure by 8.5 mm Hg and diastolic blood pressure by 6.5 mm Hg.

To put that in perspective, a healthy reading should be less than 120/80 mm Hg.

The effect is even greater when weight loss is paired with exercise.

Losing weight can help your blood vessels do a better job of expanding and contracting, making it easier for the left ventricle of the heart to pump blood.

(11) Quit smoking

breaking a cigarette in half
Among the many reasons to quit smoking is that the habit is a strong risk factor for heart disease.

Every puff of cigarette smoke causes a slight, temporary increase in blood pressure. The chemicals in tobacco are also known to damage blood vessels.

Surprisingly, studies haven't found a conclusive link between smoking and high blood pressure. Perhaps this is because smokers develop a tolerance over time.

Still, since both smoking and high blood pressure raise the risk of heart disease, quitting smoking can help reverse that risk.

(12)  Eat berries

Berries are full of more than just juicy flavor.

They're also packed with polyphenols, natural plant compounds that are good for your heart.

One small study had middle-aged people eat berries for eight weeks.

Participants experienced improvements in different markers of heart health, including blood pressure.

Another study assigned people with high blood pressure to a low-polyphenol diet or a high-polyphenol diet containing berries, chocolate, fruits and vegetables.
Those consuming berries and polyphenol-rich foods experienced improved markers of heart disease risk.

(13) Try meditation or deep breathing

While these two behaviors could also fall under "stress reduction techniques," meditation and deep breathing deserve specific mention.

Both meditation and deep breathing are thought to activate the parasympathetic nervous system. This system is engaged when the body relaxes, slowing the heart rate and lowering blood pressure.

There's quite a bit of research in this area, with studies showing that different styles of meditation appear to have benefits for lowering blood pressure (38, 39).

Deep breathing techniques can also be quite effective.

In one study, participants were asked to either take six deep breaths over the course of 30 seconds or to simply sit still for 30 seconds. Those who took breaths lowered their blood pressure more than those who just sat (40).

Try guided meditation or deep breathing. Here's a video to get you started.

(14) Eat calcium-rich foods

milk being poured
People with low calcium intake often have high blood pressure.

While calcium supplements haven't been conclusively shown to lower blood pressure, calcium-rich diets do seem linked to healthy levels.

For most adults, the calcium recommendation is 1,000 mg per day. For women over 50 and men over 70, it's 1,200 mg per day.

In addition to dairy, you can get calcium from collard greens and other leafy greens, beans, sardines and tofu. Here is a complete list.

(15) Take natural supplements

Some natural supplements may also help lower blood pressure. Here are some of the main supplements that have evidence behind them:

Aged garlic extract: Aged garlic extract has been used successfully as a stand-alone treatment and along with conventional therapies for lowering blood pressure.
Berberine: Traditionally used in Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine, berberine may increase nitric oxide production, which helps decrease blood pressure.
Whey protein: A 2016 study found that whey protein improved blood pressure and blood vessel function in 38 participants.
Fish oil: Long credited with improving heart health, fish oil may benefit people with high blood pressure the most.
Hibiscus: Hibiscus flowers make a tasty tea. They're rich in anthocyanins and polyphenols that are good for your heart and may lower blood pressure.

(16) Eat foods rich in magnesium

Magnesium is an important mineral that helps blood vessels relax.

While magnesium deficiency is pretty rare, many people don't get enough.

Some studies have suggested that getting too little magnesium is linked with high blood pressure, but evidence from clinical studies has been less clear.

Still, eating a magnesium-rich diet is a recommended way to ward off high blood pressure.

You can incorporate magnesium into your diet with vegetables, dairy products, legumes, chicken, meat and whole grains.

Foods That Reduce Blood Pressure:

1. Dark chocolate:

Look for a dark chocolate that contains at least 200 milligrams of cocoa phenols, which can reduce blood pressure.

2. Garlic:

Garlic and garlic supplements can help lower blood pressure and relax smooth muscles. Research on the health benefits of garlic is finding more and more miraculous effects. Among them, garlic seems to help thin the blood, prevent the blockage in blood vessels, and therefore lower blood pressure.

3. Spinach:

Spinach is rich in magnesium and folate, which can help prevent high blood pressure and cardiovascular disease.

4. Sunflower Seeds:

Rich in potassium, magnesium and healthy plant fats, sunflower seeds can help reduce cholesterol levels, open up blood vessels and promote healthy blood pressure.

5. Bananas:

Bananas contain loads of potassium and fiber.

6. Tomatoes:

Tomatoes are loaded with calcium, potassium, vitamins A, C, and E and lycopene. Compounds in tomatoes can lower cholesterol buildup in blood vessels and combat the development of hypertension in a variety of ways. Lycopene, one of the tomato’s most useful compounds, is activated by heat, so add tomatoes to your next chili or stew.

7. Broccoli:

Broccoli has been found to have a whole host of beneficial health effects including high amounts of potassium and chromium that help regulate blood sugar levels and weight, both related to high blood pressure.

8. Melon:

Melon is rich in potassium. Cantaloupe and watermelon are especially rich sources.

To them, it makes the relationship lively. But due to the inability of that ex to settle down they decides to go for someone serious but still hook up with him for a quickie.
It could also be that he was a good f**ker. He last longer and made her orgasm. Husbands who go out to look for a daily bread do not notice this trick.

They feel their wives are indoors when they go out simply because by the time they return from work they always meet their wives doing housework.

Women are smarter than men in most ways. They know all the relationship tricks because experience is the best teacher.

Did I Miss Anything?

10 Reasons Why You Should Stop Arguing So Much

Why You Should Stop Getting Into Arguments

As tempting as it can be to speak your mind all the time, it’s not a good idea. Here are six reasons why arguing kinda sucks:

ARGUMENT:-- An argument is a series of statements typically used to persuade someone of something or to present reasons for accepting a conclusion. An Argument is a praxeologic concept, an argument is not a proof. A proof changes our knowledge; an argument compels us to act.

REASON FOR ARGUEMENT:--

Loving argument means the curiosity to know other point of view of an assertion. Every side want to put what they think right and viable but other will bring some reality check and pessimism, many people will brings so many dimension to an idea or assertion.

There are plenty of bad reasons to love to argue. Some have been listed here. Often they are rooted in psychological or emotional problems. But there a number of approaches that feel that the dialectic or argument is one of the best ways to get closer to the truth.

Arguing is an extremely effective way to gain knowledge, learn about another person, understand yourself, and just practice communicating. Also, it is exciting.

Some people argue because arguing is fun.

Also because some people find it really fun and stimulating. In addition, there’s a great emotional surge that comes with it that some people get high on.

Reasons Why You Should Stop Getting Into Arguments

1. You Probably Won’t Win.

First of all, you probably aren’t going to change anyone’s mind when you argue with them.

In fact, people tend to react strongly in opposition to someone else’s hostile mindset.

So if you got into an argument with me about something, I would put up mental blocks to what you are saying because my ego has just as much of a need to be right as yours.

2. You Might Not Be Right.

Remember, if you got into an argument, it’s because someone else disagrees with you about something.

Maybe, just maybe, there is a chance that the other person could be right.

I know that’s probably never the case in your arguments, though

3. Even When You Win, You Lose.
Let’s say you are right.

Then what?

Whoopdy-friggin-do. What do you actually get out of it?

If you are right, you were right before the argument too, so you haven’t “won" or received any benefit at all.

4. Nobody Is Impressed.

Honestly, none of the people watching your argument think you are cool.

Arguing just makes you look like a jerk.

5. Your Relationship Is Harmed.

Getting into an argument with someone will not make you like each other more.

I think this one is pretty obvious, but people rarely stop to consider the consequences to their relationship when they argue.

All that negative energy just makes all the people involved resentful towards each other

10 Tips For Building a Loving Relationship

Tips For Building a Loving Relationship

Positive and supportive relationships will help us to feel healthier, happier, and more satisfied with our lives. So here are a few tips to help you to build more positive and healthy relationships in all areas of your life:

1. Create a safe environment where you can trust and share openly without being afraid.

Don’t interrupt, even if you need to put your hand over your mouth to stop yourself. Learn to fight fairly. No name calling. Don’t make threats. Apologize when you know you should. If you’re too angry to really listen, stop! Go into another room, take space for yourself, breathe and “calm down.”

2. Separate the facts from the feelings.

Check out YourTango for relationship advice
What beliefs and feelings get triggered in you during conflicts? Ask yourself: Is there something from my past that is influencing how I’m seeing the situation now? The critical question you want to ask: Is this about him or her, or is it really about me? What’s the real truth? Once you’re able to differentiate facts from feelings, you’ll see your partner more clearly and be able to resolve conflicts from clarity.

3. Connect with the different parts of yourself.

Each of us is not a solo instrument. We’re more like a choir or an orchestra with several voices. What is your mind saying? What is your heart saying? What is your body saying? What is your ‘gut’ saying? For example: My mind is saying ‘definitely leave her,’ but my heart says ‘I really love her.’ Let these different voices or parts of you co-exist and speak to one another. In this way, you will find an answer that comes from your whole self.

4. Develop and cultivate compassion.

Practice observing yourself and your partner without judging. Part of you might judge, but you don’t have to identify with it. Judging closes a door. The opposite of judging is compassion. When you are compassionate, you are open, connected, and more available to dialoguing respectfully with your partner. As you increasingly learn to see your partner compassionately, you will have more power to choose your response rather than just reacting.
5. Create a “we” that can house two “I’s”.

The foundation for a thriving, growing, mutually-supportive relationship is to be separate and connected. In co-dependent relationships, each person sacrifices part of him or her self, compromising the relationship as a whole. When you are separate and connected, each individual “I” contributes to the creation of a “we” that is stronger than the sum of its parts.

The differences between you and your partner are not negatives. You don’t need to be with someone who shares all of your interests and views. We may sometimes fear that these differences are incompatibilities, but in fact, they’re often what keeps a relationship exciting and full of good fire.

6. Partner, heal thyself.

Don’t expect your partner to fill your emotional holes, and don’t try to fill theirs. Ultimately, each of us can only heal ourselves. Your partner, however, can be supportive as you work with yourself, and vice versa. In fact, living in a loving relationship is healing in and of itself.

7. Ask questions when you’re unsure or are making assumptions.

All too often, we make up our own stories or interpretations about what our partners’ behavior means. For example: “She doesn’t want to cuddle; she must not really love me anymore.” We can never err on the side of asking too many questions, and then listen to the answers from your whole self — heart, gut, mind and body. Equally important is to hear what’s not being said — the facts and feeling that you sense might be unspoken.
8. Make time for your relationship.

No matter who you are or what your work is, you need to nurture your relationship. Make sure you schedule time for the well-being of your relationship. That includes making “playdates” and also taking downtime together. Frequently create a sacred space together by shutting off all things technological and digital. Like a garden, the more you tend to your relationship, the more it will grow.

9. Say the “hard things” from love.

Become aware of the hard things that you’re not talking about. How does that feel? No matter what you’re feeling in a situation, channel the energy of your emotions so that you say what you need to say in a constructive manner.

10. Accept and celebrate differences.

One of the biggest challenges we experience in relationships is that we are all different. We can perceive the world in many ways. Certainly, stumbling block that we come across when we try to build relationships is a desire or an expectation that people will think like we do and, in this way, it is so much easier to create a rapport. We feel more comfortable when we feel that people “get” us and can see our point of view. Life, however, would be very dull if we were all the same and, while we may find it initially easier, the novelty of sameness soon would wear off. So accepting and celebrating that we are all different is a great starting point.
